FORM SPACE TEXTURE (FST) was founded in 1998 to provide Development Services and Design Consulting (prototype design) services for CareNOW Medical Clinics in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Research & Development and Manufacturing
Led the Design and Construction Services team at Mary Kay, Inc. related to the design and construction of a new 453,000 SF R3 Manufacturing and Research & Development Center in Lewisville, Texas to meet FDA guidelines. The facility was awarded LEED Silver and included functions such as warehouse, cosmetics packaging and processing, waste water treatment plant, offices and conference center, medical clinic, fitness area, kitchen and dining, and research & development labs. Project was complete in November 2018 with a 3 year duration.
Aviation
Led the Architecture Group as a Senior Lead Project Manager at DFW International Airport. As a Board Employee he oversaw a team of project managers, consultants and contractors on various aviation projects, such as jet bridge modifications, retail and restaurant concessions projects, restroom upgrades, and Terminal airline fit-outs. Darren provided internal consulting and project management services to the Planning, Commercial Development, Terminal Management and Concessions Departments.
Corporate Office
Led the Team at DFW International Airport for the design and construction of the new DFW Airport Corporate Headquarters (awarded LEED Silver) and many Airline Terminal Offices. At DFW Airport, Darren also was the primary point of contact for all furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E) purchase and installation for Airport Board property remodels and expansions.
Public Safety
Led the Team at DFW International Airport for the design and construction of the DPS Fire Training Research Center; which housed an Airbus A380 fire training mockup. Also, led the Team for the design and construction of the DPS Fire Station #6 (awarded LEED Gold) and the initial design for the DPS Headquarters.
Retail
Worked for Office Depot and led the design and remodel program for the midwest, mid-atlantic and southern regions. Also, led the remodel program for Home Depot in the mid-atlantic region and Staples in Los Angeles, CA. Early career in retail design for many retail chains, retail centers and large power centers with "big box" anchors, such as Albertsons grocery stores. Also, performed development services which included municipal Council meetings and approvals.
Restaurant and Food Service
Led the remodel program for TGI Fridays and responsible for their re-branding identity approvals throughout the US. Responsibilities included detailed as-built documentation, permit process investigation and design documentation ready to issue for construction. Also, led the team that supported kitchen and dining design for projects related to the DFW Airport Concessions Department and DFW Airport Department of Public Safety stakeholders.
Hospitality
Led the Team at DFW International Airport for the design of the Terminal D International Premium Lounge, and the remodel of the Terminal D Premium Airline Clubs.
Medical
As the sole proprietor of FORM SPACE TEXTURE, Darren designed and managed the prototype design for CareNOW Medical Clinics in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and provided design documentation for Baylor Hospital Hyperbaric Oxygen Clinic for Odell Architects. Prior to FST, Darren was the Project Manager for the design documentation associated with PrimaCare Medical Clinics. After FST, Darren was the Associate for the design of MD Anderson Expansion in Dallas, TX, Lakeside Behavioral Hospital in Memphis, TN, and most importantly, managed the Dade County approval for the exterior curtainwall system for the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies in Orlando, FL.
